The county has confirmed reports from Decaturish readers of a water main break near the intersection of Willow Lane and Superior Avenue.

Readers say the break has caused water pressure issues all the way to Emory Commons.

County spokesperson Burke Brennan said, “The breach was caused by a construction crew working in the area. It is either a 14 or 16 inch line. In either case, the outage should be local and the repair should be made overnight.”

One reader told Decaturish, “I live in the affected area, waited on hold for 45 mins with DeKalb Watershed to report it. They confirmed it’s a reported issue. No boil water advisory. They advised water may be discolored or stop altogether.”

The reader said officials told her the water pressure issues would last for about three hours.

Another reader said, “I’m on Ferndale and we have no water. Friends of ours down at Scott and Clairemont out too.”

More information will be posted when it becomes available.
