UPDATE: Lt. Jennifer Ross sent the following notice:

The gas leak scene in the 300 block of Lamont Drive has been cleared.  The roadway is open and surrounding residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

Earlier today, Decaturish received a notice that Decatur Police were evacuating residents around the 300 block of Lamont Drive due to a gas leak.

Lt. Ross said, “The roadway has been blocked at Lamont Drive and Vidal Boulevard near Scott Boulevard for vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Emergency personnel are evacuating residents around the affected area as a precaution.”
