This story has been updated.

A vehicle overturned on Clairemont Avenue on Friday evening, March 25, and the driver now faces multiple charges.

A Decaturish reader says the accident happened in front of Goodyear.

Decatur Police Lt. Jennifer Ross said the driver was arrested.

“The driver was arrested for DUI, failure to maintain lane, suspended license and an outstanding warrant,” Ross said.

Ross said the driver was on probation because he had a prior DUI charge.

On Saturday evening, March 26, she provided additional information about the case.

“On Friday, March 252016 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Decatur Police responded to an accident with an overturned vehicle in the 400 block of Clairemont Avenue,” Ross said. “The driver was traveling north on Clairemont Avenue and left the roadway, striking a power pole. The driver, 34-year-old Ajaya Whiteside of DeKalb County, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain lane and a probation violation warrant.”
