A new restaurant will be making its debut in Avondale Estates on Tuesday, March 29.

Rising Son announced it will open its doors at 8 a.m. It will be located in the space that was formerly occupied by The Bishop, which closed last year.

The restaurant’s Facebook page says Rising Son will feature:

– Locally roasted coffee, freshly pressed juice, all natural hand crafted sodas (back in it yall 100%), herbal-aids, classic cocktails, wine on tap, local beer on tap.

– Classic breakfast items such as local grits, hot biscuits, local bacon and sausage and house jelly.

– Some lunch items will include fresh big salads, grain bowls, featured sandwiches and our meat and three selections.

– Meat and Three options include country fried steak, chicken, pork chopS, fish, brisket, pot pie and farmer friendly veggies, casseroles and salads.

The owners are Hudson and Kathryn Rouse. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Hudson Rouse is a former chef at Homegrown and Kathryn Rouse is responsible for craft sodas at the General Muir and Yalla.

Rising Son’s hours of operation will be Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant will be closed Sunday, April 3, because the chef will be participating in the Smoke and Glory charity event at Steinbeck’s in Decatur. Here is the flyer for that event.
