Google Fiber pricing plans released

Google has released pricing options for its fiber internet and TV services.

The prices range from $50 for the most basic package to $130 for “the full fiber experience.”

Here is the breakdown of each plan:

Fiber 1000 + TV

The full Fiber experience

$130/mo

  • Up to 1,000 Mbps upload and download speeds
  • Download an HD movie in 40 seconds
  • 220+ TV channels, HD included
  • Add premium TV including HBO®
  • Record up to 8 shows at once
  • No data caps
  • No rental fees for your Wi-Fi router and first TV Box with HD DVR

Fiber 1000

Gigabit Internet

$70/mo*

  • Up to 1,000 Mbps upload and download speeds
  • Download an HD movie in 40 seconds
  • No data caps
  • No rental fee for your Wi-Fi router

Fiber 100

Up to 100 Mbps

$50/mo*

  • Up to 100 Mbps upload and download speeds
  • Download an HD movie in 6 minutes
  • No data caps
  • No rental fee for your Wi-Fi router

In January 2015, Google Fiber announced plans to expand to the Atlanta area. The planning and build out phase for nine cities – Atlanta, Avondale Estates, Brookhaven, College Park, Decatur, East Point, Hapeville, Sandy Springs and Smyrna – was expected to take at least two years.

Other service providers have been working to increase their internet speeds after Google announced plans to move into the Atlanta market.
