The Avondale Estates Police Department says that at 7 a.m. on July 2 officers responded to a call about a burglary at a business in the 3200 block of Covington Highway.

“Unknown suspect(s) broke a window between the hours of 2:30-6:30 a.m. and made entry to the business in an attempt to remove cash from a store ATM,” the alert from the Police Department says. “Suspect(s) damaged the ATM but were unable to access the money storage area. The alarm was set but did not activate due to the location the suspect(s) made entry and exit. No other items are reportedly missing at this time.”
