The DeKalb Municipal Association is hosting a meeting of representatives from DeKalb County cities to discuss annexation plans ahead of the 2017 Legislative session.

Bill Floyd, managing director of DMA, said the meeting will be held July 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Decatur Recreation Center, located at 231 Sycamore St. He said the public is welcome to attend, but there will be no opportunity for public comment or questions at this meeting.

“It’s a meeting to get everybody together, and everybody’s got last year’s plans,” Floyd said.

At a recent joint work session between the Decatur City Commission and Decatur School Board City Manager Peggy Merriss said the city’s old annexation map is “effectively dead.”
