Avondale Estates holding 38th Annual Labor Day Race

The 38th Annual Avondale Estates Labor Day race returns next Monday, Sept. 5.

The event benefits the Amoytrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association.

According to an announcement from the city, the race begins and ends at Willis Park, located at the corner of Dartmouth Avenue and Clarendon Place.

“The morning includes 1-mile and 5K races followed by an awards ceremony,” the city’s announcement says.

According to the event announcement, registration begins at 7:30 a.m., the 1 mile novice race begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K begins at 9 a.m. The fee for on-site registration is $12 for the 1-mile and $25 for the 5K, according to the city.

People who wish to donate directly to the ALS association can send a donation to ALS Association, 27001 , Agoura Road, Suite 250, Calabassas, CA 91301-5104.
