The Broadleaf Writers Association, an educational organization for authors, will hold the first Broadleaf Writers Conference at the Decatur Library on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25.

Writers will learn how to improve their craft and will be able to submit the first page of their manuscript for critique. There will also be an opportunity to speak with literary agents. One of the speakers is Decaturish columnist and published novelist Nicki Salcedo. Other speakers include:
