The city of Decatur is holding a “recycling expo” to highlight the city’s recycling programs.

“Recycle Decatur” will take place on the Decatur Square on Sept. 15, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

According to the city, attendees “can get a hands-on review on recycling. Participants will also receive information on the city’s recycling program, meet members of the Environmental Sustainability Board, become familiar with organizations that accept hard to recycle items, learn what can be recycled during Decatur’s Electronic Recycling fall event, and enter a chance to win a prize.”

The city recently made some modifications to its residential recycling program, asking residents to sort glass and put it into resident-provided containers.
