Woodlands Garden in Decatur says fairies will descend upon Woodlands on Oct. 1.

The annual event begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. The event is free to attend. Woodlands is located at 932 Scott Blvd in Decatur

Fairy costumes are welcomed.

“During the event, the Garden will host storytelling with Little Shop of Stories, hands-on crafts for all ages, and the ever-popular ‘Summoning of the Fairies’ parade,” the event announcement says. “Visitors will discover tiny fairy houses tucked throughout the Garden. The houses are created by Skyland Trail artists using moss, bark, twigs, branches, seed heads, leaves and other natural materials. With hints provided by Woodlands, visitors can find fairies of all kinds — as well as trolls — tucked into sheltered nooks along the wooded trails. This free event was designed to help children of all ages recognize and appreciate the art that lies within nature.”
