A local jewelry store recently showed its appreciation to the Decatur Police and Fire crews by providing gift bags.

According to the city’s Decatur Minute blog,¬†Worthmore Jewelers provided goodie bags that included¬†water, Gatorade, snacks and hand warmers, things employees can use during their shifts. Bags also went to court personnel and support services staff.

The bags were decorated by Whiz Kids and Project REAL, programs overseen by the city’s Children and Youth Services program.

“To have community members think enough of all of us to take the time and resources to make and deliver appreciation gifts means more than you know,” Lt. Jennifer Ross wrote.
