North Candler street will close four to six weeks for storm drainage work

The city says that on Wednesday, Nov. 9, North Candler Street will be closed to through traffic so a contractor can install new storm drain pipes.

“This will require East Howard Avenue to be closed to westbound traffic at North Candler Street,” the city says. “North Candler south of Pate Street will be open to two-way traffic temporarily while the new drainage system is being installed.”

Detour signs will be posted and the work is expected to take four to six weeks.

“Commerce Drive, Sycamore Street, Church Street, and East Trinity Place, together, will provide a workable detour and access to all addresses,” the city says. “Please study the attached detour maps as your traffic patterns may be affected by construction.”
