(SPONSORED) – RHEN’S NEST TOY SHOP SUGGESTS BUYING FEWER TOYS THIS HOLIDAY

Posted by Dan Whisenhunt November 28, 2016

rhenStrange for us to suggest you cut down on the number of gifts you give your child this holiday. We are, after all, a toy shop.

But it occurs to us at Rhen’s Nest that rather than overwhelm kids on Christmas morning with a big pile of presents, we may ALL do better with fewer, more meaningful toys that engage, educate, and provide a real benefit or function in our children’s lives. Toys that require just a little more in terms of dollars and parental engagement, but provide far better dividends in the end.

blocks

Like Tegu. These magnetic wooden blocks are simple, yet foster the most important thing in a child … their imagination.

Or HABA board games – beautifully  designed games that build concentration, dexterity, and fine motor skills. Did you know HABA has 31 of its titles on the top 100 games for ages 2-10+ on Boardgamegeek.com?

Rhen’s Nest Toy Shop has the largest HABA games selection in Atlanta.

Or Yellow Scope, science kits designed for girls. Built and designed by scientist moms who wish to inspire young girls. These chemistry kits will keep girls ages 8-12  conducting experiments for hours. Your chemist will learn about the key scientific concepts of chemical reactions, molecular motion, and the effects of temperature. Rhen’s Nest Toy Shop is the only toy shop in Georgia that carries Yellow Scope.

These are toys not typically found in holiday catalogs or retail chain stores. They’re toys invented by passionate entrepreneurs who want to create a better playing experience for children, but often have limited marketing budgets to promote their wonderful products.

foundation

Don’t get us wrong – we carry some “popular” toys, too. But we won’t compete with big box stores or shopping websites to see who can offer the steepest discounts for the same “hot toys.”

Because toy discounts don’t save you money if those toys are no longer being played with on December 26th.

So let us help you find a toy that can make a positive impact on your child. Sure, we may not have the countless aisles of options. But that’s okay. When you’re the smallest toy shop in the area, you only have room to curate the best.
