The Avondale Estates Police Department is looking to fill three openings within the department.

Police Chief Lynn Thomas told Decaturish that the city is down one officer position and his recent promotion to chief created another opening. He said the city has also added a position for the next year, he said.

The salary starts at $39,500 per year. The city also says it offers a “very competitive benefits package” that includes health insurance and pension.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, must never have been convicted of a felony and must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
