Academe of the Oaks, a private high school in Decatur, invites those interested in learning more about Middle Eastern viewpoints to their conference, “Awakening Our Hearts and Minds: Critical Perspectives on Israel/Palestine, Syria” on Feb. 4.

According to Academe, the event will include “thought-provoking commentary and discussion and critical perspectives on current issues in the Middle East.”

Experts on issues such as Islamophobia and anti-Semitism will be sharing their knowledge as well as solutions for how to behave on the community level.

The conference lasts from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are sold at $10 for students and $25 for adults, which covers “attendance to the keynote speech, panels, workshops, and lunch.”
