DeKalb County Police report that an AT&T outage temporarily prevented  customers from dialing 911 on Thursday, Jan. 12.

“Customers with area code (404) and the exchange of 284, 286, 288, 289 or 534 are asked to call (678) 406-7929 or (404)294-2911 in the case of an emergency,” The Police Department alert says. “The outage is expected to last several hours.”

The issue is now resolved.
