UPDATE: Decatur Police investigate theft at Revolution Doughnuts

Posted by Dan Whisenhunt January 14, 2017

The Decatur Police Department has opened an investigation after a man allegedly stole a purse from an employee of Revolution Doughnuts.

In a Facebook post, the company said, “This person was caught by our security cameras stealing our kitchen supervisor’s purple purse. Shame on you dude! If you recognize this person please report any details to the Decatur Police Department… and please share it around. The more people who see this, the more likely he is to be caught and stopped from doing it again somewhere else. P.S. He was wearing pink gloves and a dark green backpack – ‘cased’ the shop by using our restroom.”

The Police Department is asking for leads.

“If you recognize the suspect in this photo, please contact Inv. Vandiver at 678/553-6628 or jonathan.vandiver@decaturga.com,” the Police Department said.

The suspect has been identified as Sam Gibbs, 50, no known address. He is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, and 135 pounds. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
