Sharon Barnes Sutton is no longer on the County Commission, but her actions on the way out the door have piqued the interest of federal investigators.

DeKalb County received a subpoena for records of communications between county officials – including Sutton – and two companies: CAL Enterprises and For Winners Only Inc.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Sutton made payments to both companies. She paid CAL Enterprises to engage her constituents and arrange a town hall event. For Winners received $9,100 to produce a transition report.  For the full AJC story, click here. Sutton told the AJC the allegations a waste of taxpayer money and false.

Sutton lost her re-election bid to Steve Bradshaw last July.
