Decatur’s 12th annual Run With The Dogs 5k is coming up on Saturday, Jan. 21. This year they’re adding a 1-Mile Pup Trot.

One registration fee covers both races, so all dawgs and dogs can run and/or walk both races if they’re feeling up to it. Proceeds go through the Decatur Bulldog Boosters to support Renfroe Middle School and Decatur High School (DHS) athletic departments.

To pre-register, visit: http://www.RWTD5k.com.

Tee shirts, plus bandanas for dogs, are promised with pre-registration, which ends on Jan. 8.

The fee is $30 for individuals through Jan. 13, and increases to $35 until day of the race. For any City of Decatur students or employees, the fee is $25 through Jan. 13 when it increases to $30. Registration is non-refundable.

Day-of registration will begin at 8 a.m. in the DHS cafeteria. The 1-Mile Pup Trot starts at 8:30 a.m., and the 5k follows at 9 a.m.

All participants will start behind the DHS stadium, on Commerce St., and follow a route through residential Decatur. Per usual, water will be stationed throughout the course and snacks will be available after the races.

Awards are given to the top male and female runners, which are divided by age group.
