Portion of Cook Road closing this month due to maintenance

Maintenance on a gas pipeline is forcing the closure of a portion of Cook Road this month.

DeKalb County says the portion of the road between Gresham Road southeast and Flat Shoals Road will be closed to through traffic starting today, Jan. 3, through 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

The closure will allow for “maintenance on an existing gas transmission pipeline,” the county says.

“Road closure signs will be posted advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions,” the press release from the county says. “Questions regarding this road closure should be addressed to Bobby Conner with Southern Company Gas at (404) 427-0248.”
