Get your picnic blankets ready for Oakhurst Jazz Nights, coming to Decatur every Thursday night in April, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Oakhurst Jazz Nights is a free concert series in the front yard of the Solarium, located at 321 W. Hill St. in Decatur. Large foldable chairs are not allowed, but food and drink, and dogs, are welcome.

Typically, between 300 and 500 people go to each concert. Free parking is available at the Solarium and in the Oakhurst neighborhood.

As for the lineup, each concert “features grammy-winning or grammy-nominated musicians.” The schedule is as follows:

Faith Carmichael Quartet April 20, 2017

Bonaventure Quartet with Amy Pike April 27, 2017

The first act, Diane Durrett on Apr. 6, is a first-timer at Oakhurst Jazz Nights. According to a recent announcement, “Durrett just released ‘The Rose’ engineered by TK Kidd at the famous Silent Sound Studios. She has sung a duo with Sting and many other famous musicians.”
