Jason Carlton, owner of Play it Again Sports, has moved his business from North DeKalb Mall to North Decatur Plaza.

Carlton had been a tenant at North DeKalb Mall for 20 years. He recently told Decaturish the closing of the store’s anchor tenant, Macy’s, hurt his business, and he began looking for space elsewhere when the landlord told them it planned to begin renovation work this year. That work has been pushed back to 2018.

The North Decatur Plaza location is the same shopping center that houses Bicycle South and Mediterranean Grill. The physical address is 2122 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA.

The relocated store held its grand opening on May 15. There’s no word on whether there’s a tenant lined up to move into the now-vacant space at North DeKalb Mall.

“It would have to be a temporary lease, because they’re talking about tearing that whole side down,” Carlton said.
