ARTucker to debut local art this weekend

This Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., ARTucker will showcase local artists.

Hosted at the Tucker Recreation Center, the event – which began in 2015 and is held twice a year  – is free and will display “a wide array of art mediums” such as face painting, live music and locally made art, including pottery and jewelry. The recreation center is located at 4898 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA.

Two booths to look forward to are Chelle Face Painting as well as pottery from Tucker Recreation Pottery Studio students’ and teachers’ work. The food truck, Grubbin’ Out will be at the event, too.

ARTucker founder Patty Young said she finds that a certain “vibrancy of a community is enhanced with the arts” in a recent press release.

Jewelry maker Stephanie Stein,  a vendor at ARTucker, views the event as a chance to make connections with  other Atlanta artists.

“I am looking forward to another great event and experience. This will be my 4th time participating as a vendor in ARTucker and the show has been a success every time,” Stein said in a press release. “It has been a great place to network with other artists and I enjoy all the great conversations with the community members who attend. Every show I take home something new, something that inspires my own studio practice, or a new network into the Atlanta handmade art scene.”
