Indigo dyeing workshop coming up this Saturday
On May 20, Trinity Mercantile & Design is hosting the Art of Indigo Workshop. The shop is located at 116 East Trinity Place in Decatur. Attendees can come between noon and 4 p.m. to work on indigo dyeing.
Each attendee should plan on spending about an hour on their masterpiece, created out of either a “pillow, scarf or hobo bag, made from recycled natural fibers.”
Jaipur Living artist Mollie Coffin will be demonstrating “DIY techniques for creating beautiful fabric designs on a one-of-a-kind piece to take home.”
Workshop space is fixed and reservation-based. Interested participants should RSVP to [email protected] for a spot. Tickets go for $30 each, which covers “instruction, materials and refreshments.”
All of the event revenue will be donated to two nonprofits, the Jaipur Rug Foundation and re:loom.
