Kirkwood is gearing up for the 2nd annual Kirkwood Spring Fling Bird Stroll this Sunday, May 21, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The community is invited to observe 20 to 40 local birds, with “all levels of birders welcome” on a one to two-mile walk.

Those interested should meet for the event in the Kirkwood Public Library parking lot, ready to go for “a leisurely Sunday morning stroll” in Kirkwood. Attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars and sport shoes for walking.

The event will end with refreshments at Kirkwood Feed & Seed, located at 1998 Hosea L Williams Dr NE in Atlanta, where attendees will receive 10 percennt off a purchase. In case of rain, Kirkwood Feed & Seed will be host of a Q&A with “refreshments, birding supplies and socializing.”

The leader will be David Kuechenmeister from the Atlanta Audubon Society, and the cell contact for the morning of the stroll is (404)-822-8089.
