Between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. today, a tornado watch will be in effect for 49 counties in Georgia. The watch will affect all of Atlanta and Decatur and their surrounding areas, according to the National Weather Service.

A watch means that the conditions are favorable for a tornado to occur. A tornado warning will be issued if a tornado is actually spotted.
