Decatur Police assisted DeKalb Police in arresting a man accused of driving a stolen vehicle and parking it near the DeKalb County courthouse.

The arrest occurred on June 14 around 1:04 p.m. A Decatur Police officer went to a parking lot at 515 North McDonough Street after a DeKalb County Police Officer located a stolen vehicle there. The parking attendant gave the officers a description of the driver and said the driver was standing in the 500 block of North McDonough Street.

“The officers located the suspect walking across the front lawn of the DeKalb County Courthouse,” Lt. Jennifer Ross said. The officer called out to the man and told him to get on the ground. The suspect did as he was told. He was handcuffed without incident, Ross said. Officer Gresham called out to the male and instructed him to get on the ground. The male complied and got onto the ground. He was handcuffed without incident.
