The Decatur Youth Council (DYC) is a city-sponsored program open to high school students in Decatur that develops leadership skills and allows students to become more involved in their community. According to their website, members of the DYC participate in “structured monthly educational programs and team-building activities.”

The program is open to any high school-aged students who attend public, private and home-based schools and who live in the Decatur city limits. Last year, nine Decatur students participated.

If you are or know anyone who is an interested high school student living or attending school in the City of Decatur, apply online at www.decaturga.com/dyc.  Applications and reference forms are due by Friday, August 18, 2017.
