The city of Decatur is seeking out new crossing guards for the 2017-2018 school year, according to the city’s website. The crossing guards help pedestrians, especially children attending the local schools, to cross some of the larger intersections around the city.

Applicants must simply be physically capable of doing the job, have no convictions “involving moral turpitude,” have “good judgement skills” and be able to read and see printed materials and license plates.
