Coming up on Oct. 7, Taste of Tucker returns for its 8th year. A few thousand people are planning to come out for this street fair, which will be complete with food tastings and live music.

Starting at 1 p.m. and lasting through 6 p.m., Tucker’s Main Street will offer a variety of food samples from more than 20 local restaurants while attendees enjoy music from local bands.

There will be a play space for kids through Tucker First United Methodist Church as well as a spot to purchase local produce from the Tucker Farmers Market.

Anyone can attend the fair, free of charge. For taste-testing, you can “purchase $1 tickets to exchange for food samples, with ‘tastes’ costing between one and four tickets.”

According to the event announcement, “Proceeds from the event benefit NETWorks Cooperative Ministry, which fights poverty and hunger in the community; EIRO, a consulting service for churches; Camp Kudzu, which supports children and teens who have Type 1 diabetes; and the Old Town Tucker Merchants Association.”

Taste of Tucker needs volunteers to help set up, execute, and break down the event. You can sign up as a volunteer at www.tasteoftucker.com.
