Biz bits: Canadian firm now leasing of 250 E Ponce, Double Dragon debuts arcade machine

–  Canadian firm Avison Young is taking over the leasing of the 250 E. Ponce building in downtown Decatur. Avison Young has offices in Atlanta. Tenants of the 141,582-square-foot office building include Wells Fargo, ELS Educational Service, Inc. and Utility Associates, Inc.

The company announced via press release that, “A full floor (13,440 square feet) of creative, loft office space is currently available.”

The building was constructed in 1962.

“Decatur is one of the most specialized and sought-after submarkets in metro Atlanta and an ideal location for millennials based on its proximity to downtown Atlanta, MARTA and numerous retail amenities,” Kirk Rich, principal at Avison Young in Atlanta, said in the press release. “Decatur’s nationally acclaimed school system has also drawn many C-suite executives seeking excellent public education opportunities for their children to the area. A wide variety of companies, especially tech startups, have also chosen the community because it offers a superb live, work, play environment.”

– Double Dragon in Decatur is hosting a Luau Hour. It will be held daily, starting Aug. 7 and is billed as “a later in the evening celebration of Chinese Food, Tiki cocktails and old school arcade games.”

“Beginning at 8:30 p.m. on weeknights (Sunday through Thursday) and 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Double Dragon will offer 25 percent off their entire food menu including their popular Americanized Chinese entrees like General Tso’s Chicken and Mongolian Beef along with other Cantonese and Sichuanese specialties,” the company’s announcement says. “The bar will continue to pour craft beer and Tiki cocktails during Luau hour, along with two special Tiki Punches. To top off the fun, the team has procured an arcade style video game machine that’ll play the original Double Dragon games along with thousands of other classics.”

Double Dragon is located at 350 Mead Rd, Decatur, GA in Oakhurst Village.
