UPDATE from the city of Avondale Estates:

Oakham Pl. Reopened After Gas leak

Avondale Estates Police Department, Atlanta Gas Light and DeKalb County Water and Sewer have reopened Oakham Place after a natural gas leak this morning in the area of 697 Windsor Terrace closed roads in the area. The block of Windsor Terrace between Oakham Place and Melford Place remains closed while DeKalb County Water and Sewer work in the area.

The Avondale Estates Police Department, Atlanta Gas Light and DeKalb Water and Sewer are on the scene of a gas leak near 697 Windsor Terrace

“Oakham Place and the block of Windsor Terrace between Oakham Place and Melford Place are closed until further notice while Atlanta Gas Light makes repairs,” the announcement from the city says. “Homeowners in the immediate area are advised to not use any gas related appliances until the repair is completed.”

City Manager Clai Brown said the gas line was hit by the DeKalb County water department.
