The Avondale Estates Garden Club will be hosting another Tree Walk this year.

The fourth annual Tree Walk will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is free. It will start at Lake Avondale, near the gazebo.

“The dual themes for this year’s walk will emphasize the role of trees in the environment, as well as referencing Avondale’s evolution from when it was a clearing and first developed to the lush canopy which surrounds the City today,” the announcement from the city says. “The registration area is in front of the gazebo. Tree walks will begin after the talks with arborists and landscape architects leading six different routes in Avondale Estates, including one around Lake Avondale for those who prefer or require a short walk. In addition to talks for both children and adults, there will be free educational materials for children and adults, including a booklet from the Georgia Forestry Commission for all participants.”
