DeKalb County Schools has partnered with the NAACP DeKalb County Branch Education Committee to recruit volunteers within the community to help in local classrooms.

According to a recent press release, the partnership aims to enhance education through volunteerism. “Research has shown that parent, family and community involvement correlates with higher academic performance and school improvement,” the press release says.

In order to improve education for all students, the partnership with the NAACP Education Committee will help DeKalb County focus on “education-related racial and ethnic disparities in our public schools.”

Classroom volunteers will be fingerprinted before being allowed to work with kids. To register now to volunteer, visit https://communityschoolvolunteer.eventbrite.com.
