The Oakhurst Fifth Avenue 5K and the Mayor’s Mile return to Decatur on Saturday, Oct. 7 and there will be several past city mayors on hand to participate.

The 5K will begin at the 4/5 Academy at Fifth Avenue (FAVE) at 9 a.m. and end in the Oakhurst Village. The Mayor’s Mile will begin at 9:45 a.m. and end in the Oakhurst Village. Last year, five mayors participated in the Mayor’s Mile.

“You can register and pick up your race number and shirt on Friday, Oct. 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Fleet Feet Decatur, 431 W Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030 OR at Harmony Park in Oakhurst on Friday, Oct. 6 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.,” the event announcement says. “Or you can pick up on race day, Saturday, October 7th in front of the 4/5 Academy at Fifth Avenue, 101 5th Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030 beginning at 7:30 a.m.”

The registration rate is $25 for adults, $20 for City Schools of Decatur or City of Decatur employees, and $18 for runners 18 and under.

The race is part of  Decatur Active Living Team Decatur race series, and money raised through the races will go to F.AVE’s PTO and the Decatur Education Foundation.
