On Monday, Feb. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m., Avondale Towne Cinema is hosting the Short Docs Festival, “showcasing short documentaries with a distinct Southern flair.” There is no cost to attend.

The Short Docs Festival was organized by Hal Jacobs and his son, Henry Jacobs, both of whom are independent filmmakers interested in offering screen time for up-and-coming filmmakers. The Jacobs value watching films as a community, inviting all to experience the docs together on Feb. 5.

They’ve picked films that interest the Decatur and Avondale demographic, describing the selected short docs as “diverse, smart and soulful.”

Avondale Towne Cinema is located at 106 North Avondale Road in Avondale Estates. You can find more information about these short docs and the Towne Cinema by visiting: www.towneshortdocs.com.
