Avondale’s Greenspace Ad Hoc Committee is working to improve green spaces around the city through two workshops.

On Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Jan. 23, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., this committee invites all Avondale residents to attend and share their desires for the future of green space in the city. The workshops will be held at Avondale Estates City Hall, located at 21 N Avondale Road.

The chair of the committee, Brad Jones, said in a recent press release that incorporating green spaces “are shown to increase property values and improve quality of life.”

Committee member Steve Sanchez said in the press release that “these open spaces are the cultural heart of the City where the neighborhood comes together to celebrate life, but it takes a concerted effort to provide adequate green space for a growing community and maintain these special places from the ravages of time and use.”

If you’re interested in attending one of the workshops, you can register now by visiting the following link: https://goo.gl/EHNmWB. There will be a place for children to play and color for any parents who want to participate.
