Andrea Andrade, who is a friend of Adams’ roommate, told Decaturish, “The truck fled, and my friend’s roommate died at the scene. Horrifically, another friend had been following in his car and witnessed everything. Police are conducting an active criminal investigation and are trying to locate the vehicle. We are trying hard to spread the word far and wide so people can be on the lookout.”

Adams was the father of a 3-year-old boy according to 11 Alive, which first broke the story.

According to 11 Alive, the rental truck company is working with police to identify the driver.

In a post on Reddit, Andrade said, “Please, please, please keep your eye out for a truck of this description that looks like it might have damage to the front/front left side of the vehicle. If you have any information or leads, please contact the Dekalb County PD or Crimestoppers (404-577-TIPS) right away.”
