DeKalb sanitation services closed on Monday to observe MLK Jr.

The DeKalb County Sanitation Department.

Residential sanitation collection for DeKalb County will be postponed on Monday, Jan. 15, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

All garbage, recycling and yard trimmings will be collected based on the following revised schedule:

– Tuesday, Jan. 16 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Monday,
Jan. 15, will be serviced on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

– Wednesday, Jan. 17 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is
Tuesday, Jan. 16, will be serviced on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

– Thursday, Jan. 18 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is
Wednesday, Jan. 17, will be serviced on Thursday, Jan. 18.

– Friday, Jan. 19 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is
Thursday, Jan. 18, will be serviced on Friday, Jan. 19.

In addition to collection services, the Sanitation Division’s administrative office, Central and North Transfer Stations and Seminole Road Landfill will close on Monday, reopening for regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Service in Decatur has also been pushed back a day. According to the city:

– Regular services for Monday, Jan. 15 will be on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

– Regular services for Tuesday, Jan. 16 will be on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
