Winter Weather Forces Closure of All City Operations

TUCKER, Ga. (January 17, 2018) – Due to winter weather, the City of Tucker has closed all operations for Wednesday January 17, including City Hall, the Tucker Recreation Center and the monthly environmental court date for Code Enforcement violations.

As with previous winter weather threats, City leaders waited to assess road conditions before making a call on the closures. With snow covering Metro Atlanta roads and temperatures nearing single digits, it was determined the safe course of action was to close.

At this time, there is no make-up date to announce for environmental court. That will be publicized as soon as a date is determined.

DeKalb Government? Oh you know that’s closed. Garbage collection is getting pushed back another day, too.

DECATUR, Ga. – Due to the snowy and frigid conditions in metro Atlanta, DeKalb County offices, libraries, senior centers and recreation centers will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Additionally, all DeKalb County courts, the office of the Clerk of Superior Court and Board of Equalization will be closed.

County employees who are required to maintain operations during the weather event should check with their supervisors for instructions.

The following warming stations are open until further notice:

  • Fire Station 3, 100 N. Clarendon Ave., Avondale Estates, GA 30002
  • Fire Station 6, 2342 Flat Shoals Road, Atlanta, GA 30316
  • Fire Station 21, 1090 Crown Point Pkwy., Atlanta, GA 30338
