Decatur Police responded to three different residential burglaries on April 17 between 3:10 p.m. and 5:58 p.m.
All three crimes may be related, Lt. Jenniffer Ross said.
“A complainant in the 400 block of Westchester Drive reported the home was forcibly entered through a side door and a laptop was taken,” Ross said. “A complainant in the 200 block of Maederis Drive reported the home was forcibly entered through the front door and a box of paperwork containing personal information was taken. A complainant in the 200 block of Superior Avenue reported the home was forcibly entered through a rear door and a desktop computer was taken. In all three cases, the deadbolt of the door that was forced open was still in the locked position and the door frame was broken around the area of the deadbolt catch. Additional evidence indicates the doors were kicked in. Investigators responded to all three scenes.”
