April 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
In the wake of some major Atlanta roadway woes, join us to explore the potential of Equitable Transportation Oriented Development – the idea of building communities with transit in mind. Our metro region is growing, and getting people to jobs, schools, social services, and recreation quickly and easily is becoming more and more important. We will hear from members of Atlanta’s Transformation Alliance, a coalition of major organizations dedicated to creating thriving, mixed-income communities anchored by transit and linked to all the great things Atlanta has to offer.
6:00pm Doors open
6:30pm Talk begins
Topics we will explore:
– What the heck are TOD and ETOD?
– Why transportation oriented development and how are communities currently designed?
– What are policies or mechanisms needed to make transit oriented development a reality?
– How can we make transit oriented communities affordable for everyone?
