walk

May 20 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

Decatur’s Core Performance Company will present “walk”, a meditative dance work that celebrates the sacred space of a labyrinth, on Saturday, May 20 on the Decatur Square at 8 p.m. The performance is free, and the audience is invited to walk the labyrinth. The performance is an outdoor event with live music and limited seating, so patrons are encouraged to bring blankets to sit on. Rain or shine. “walk” contemplates the changing nature of the individual within our briskly changing world while the labyrinth offers the sacred space for this community experience. Artistic collaborators for “walk” include Chantelle Rytter, who designed lanterns and creations for the labyrinths, Jay Staley, who designed and built the labyrinth for the Decatur performance, and Chip Epsten and Grady Cousins who composed the live music score.
