Snowmageddon day 3: Roads still closed, Avondale Estates trash pick-up

It’s still cold out there.

But metro Atlanta is slowly starting to crawl out from under this blanket of snow. Here’s what’s new today.

DeKalb County sent over an email this morning and said the following roads are closed:

Avondale Estates sent a notice out this morning saying that recycling and sanitation services will resume today at 10 am. Decatur’s trash and recycling pickup will also resume at 10 am.

Metro area schools – City Schools of Decatur, Atlanta Public Schools, DeKalb County Schools and Fulton County Schools are closed today, Jan. 30. The city of Decatur announced yesterday that it will reopen at noon today. DeKalb County administrative offices are closed. The county’s revised trash pickup schedule is as follows:

– Wednesday recycling and yard waste routes and Thursday garbage routes will be collected on Friday.

– Thursday recycling and yard waste routes and Friday garbage routes will be collected on Saturday.

– All missed items will be collected on Sunday.

Decatur Metro is keeping a running list of what business are open and closed.
