Pure Barre, a studio touting workouts based around the ballet barre, will open in Decatur on Wednesday, May 13.

Owners Ashley Goot and Katy Bayless Gibson, who have a franchise in Virginia Highland, announced the opening date in a press release Thursday.

“Ashley and I feel very fortunate to have really connected with the Virginia Highland community, especially our clients, over the past year,” said co-owner, Katy Bayless Gibson. “We are really looking forward to continuing our business in Virginia Highland and bringing our expertise to Decatur. We love that it’s such a vibrant neighborhood with obvious personality and a craving for studios like ours that foster an encouraging, fun environment to get fit.”

The fitness studio is opening in the former Seen Gallery space at 415 Church Street in downtown Decatur.

The press release says the studio is running a new client special ahead of Wednesday’s opening. It’s $99 for five weeks of unlimited classes.

Solstice Urban Retreat, a yoga studio that offers babysitting, just opened in Decatur last month and also offers barre-based classes.
