Emory University students generated national attention after a some students protested messages, written in chalk, that were in support of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The students, one of whom was quoted as saying “We are in pain!” during the protest, were mocked and ridiculed by comedians Bill Maher and Larry Wilmore.

Maher said on his HBO show “Real Time” that he wanted to “dropkick these kids into a place where there is actual pain and suffering.”

“The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” also took aim at the sensitivity Emory students.

While Emory University’s president has been sympathetic to the students’ concerns, the university has since announced it doesn’t plan any further actions in response to the pro-Trump chalkings.
