Decatur will be the first community in Georgia to receive a 365 by Whole Foods Market grocery store.

The company confirmed the development on May 4. The opening date has not been announced.

The store will be part of the forthcoming North Decatur Square shopping center being developed by S.J. Collins Enterprises, according to a press release from S.J. Collins Enterprises. The store will be located at North Decatur Road and Church Street, just outside the Decatur city limits.

“The 365 by Whole Foods concept will be a great fit for this new, growing retail corridor in the north end of Decatur,” Jeff Garrison, partner at S.J. Collins Enterprises, said in the press release. “Close to downtown Atlanta, this location is ideal for shoppers looking for good, healthy and convenient food options that the grocery store will provide, along with several other chef-driven and fast-casual restaurants that we expect will fill North Decatur Square.”

The press release says North Decatur Square will have 90,000 square feet of commercial space, including the 365 store. There will be retail and restaurant tenants, the press release says. The shopping center is expected to be open by Spring of 2018.

A press release from Whole Foods says, “Designed to complement the Whole Foods Market brand, 365 by Whole Foods Market will feature a curated mix of products that adhere to the company’s industry-leading quality standards, in a modern and streamlined retail environment. Additionally, customers can expect to find unique in-store experiences through a program called ‘Friends of 365.'”

Whole Foods has signed 19 leases for the stores. The Decatur location is the only one confirmed for Georgia, so far.
